Was wondering why Barkie doesn't get a special forum of its own in the manufacturers part?

Only recently come across these but they are a credit to the American Cutler tradition: Huge choice, many finishes and scales and everybody I've shown one to has been very impressed with the look and finish.

The other place- knifeforums- has one so why not here too? Are others interested? Incidentally, as a Euro member, what IS the diff between this forum and the knife one exactly? People here seem er, a little more articulate and learned:D

Any pix any one fancies sharing? (I'm hopeless with digi cameras and attaching pix, ashamed)

They're content with a presence on KF, it seems. As for the differences, I would be wary of saying one is better than the other. Different foci.

The Bark River forum on the "other" board is very well looked after by the owners of BRK knives. Following one forum is hard enough for someone who actually does real work for a living. I doubt they want to split their time across multiple boards just to maintain a presence here. Note other vendors do the same; Some here, some there.

I do agree their knives are great. Just got my first (a Mikro) and am looking at others.

As for the "difference", well, there are a lot of forums on just about any subject on the 'net. Different styles. It's often considered bad form to discuss, or most especially disparage, one forum on another.

OK thanks for the info. I didn't mean to give offence to other forums, just interested in the differences. This one is easier to use and generates debate more as far as I can tell.
