I consider myself just a regular customer, that owns every version of the BG-42 Custom 110. I love the Custom Shop knives and if they would offer the 112 as a selection, I and I am sure many others, would collect every variation as well.

I know that this has been asked before, but dang it, inquiring minds want to know.

In response to customers Buck did make that offering available for a short time back in 2009. There were less than 100 ordered. The Collectors club has also offered limited production runs of the 112. DM

Yes, I remember that offering, David. I must have been standing behind the door at the time. :(

You know, I have been meaning to get a BCCI membership for 5 years now. I guess that it is time to get off the pot.

A.P.F I know what you mean. I've been talking about joining the club for a few years.I finally sent my info/payment in yesterday.

Good stuff, my friend. I have to save up a bit, but it will happen before the fall. I am also planning a holiday to Post Falls. This year is already knackered, but next summer will be nice. :)

I just did an annual membership for now. I might try to get a lifetime next year.

Not sure, but i'm getting a 112FG in the mail soon and I really want to put stag handles on it.

Here you go CJZ, a FG stag from the short CS run. Also a rams horn from the same run, both have s30v blades.

You gents won't regret becoming a member. It's money well spent. Handsome models in the photos JB. DM

Thanks for the kind words my Buck brothers. DM is correct, I have a few of the BCCI 112's and they put those two to shame! Join the club folks, the information in their web site is worth the price alone IMHO.

You're kill'in me here, JB! Those knives are beautiful!

hee hee hee all dis talk about a girly knife !
my brother from the same mother collects the 112
he has the first and the last 112 made from that short custom run!!
dat 112 is not a bad work knife but it don't fit my hands real well and
most times I see a gal with a buck knife she is a carrying a 112
as it fits a girls hands so much better den a 110 that it makes a good girly knife!

Ouch. :DI've never held a 112 and have only seen one out once. It seemed like a good back pocket knife but hadn't picked one up yet.

IMO, the curve of the front bolster makes the 112 a nicer handling knife than either the 110 or 500.

That said, I find the 112 falls into the bad no man's land of tweener design.

IMO, its too thick and heavy for pocket carry. The 500 is infinitely better in the regard.

And, if you're going to put a holster on your belt or carry the knife in a pack, I can't see favoring the 112 over the 110. That is, if I'm going to carry something that bulky, Ill just go for the 110.

This may upset the purist but I would love to see 110s get the 112 bolster and the 112 thinned out like the 500.

The one place where in think the 112 works is for tradesmen who need a knife for hard scraping work. The blunter tip a d thick squared grip allow more leverage to be applied with minimal damage to the blade (we see more tipped 110s, no?).

Dave is right, those 112s are girly knives. I strongly suggest that my Buck Brothers send me theirs to avoid further embarasment. :D

A.P.F. I agree with you. I'll split them and that way I can get in touch with my feminine side.:D

hee hee hee..
once buck made a test run of a thinned out 110 wit a 112 hook
called it a thinsides .. I have one made in memory of that knife
demascus handle and blade both
yep a 110 wit a 112 hook on it
best o both worlds IMHO
ugh .. folks ... I call it a girly knife as it is a much finer size fer a gal to carry
not that it is any less of a Man's Knife then a folding hunter !!!
but ya .. all o us need to get in touch with our softer side I recon ...
or not ... lol

((the 112 has a colorfull development story related to de ship it is named after
it was not intended as a tween size carry

(( preaching to the singers in the chapel here! yep sir re 500 is a better go to meeting pocket knife!!))

(( yowser man, jest drop a line to Joe Houser or Billy Bob and see it it happens ... cant hurt a tall ;) ))
