Just curious as to why there is no Busse Combat Tomahawk model yet?! Tons of new designs from parangs to cleavers, how about a full-tang INFI Hawk bossman?! Would love for you guys to steal some RMJ thunder :foot:

The cost a an INFI Hawk is probably one of the major inhibitors.

I know that comparing the cost to a knife is not necessarily accurate because of how you can overlap the cuts in the sheet to make a 'hawk vs. a knife - but...

If you look at a 3/8" (thicker would be even better IMO) piece of INFO that is 18-24" long you are talking well over $1K (based on the current large blades as the comparison). You also may have more fine grinding / work on the Hawk depending on the design that a long, even knife blade.

I would love to see a longer, thicker Busse Hawk - but for the uses I have in mind, I would be more than fine with SR101.

Actually, the Pork Chop list for $327 and sold at the special at $267...I bet an Infi version would be what about $200 more? I want one with a Regulator handle

But, look at how little real grinding was needed on that. The cutting part of the blade is pretty short.

A 'hawk like the megalodon with the long sharpened edges would take a lot more work.

Also, look at the price of a MOAB that is more in the same length in INFI.

Hmmmmmm...you're right. Would it have to be as "complex" as the Megalodon? A RMJ Jenny Wren or Winkler Battle Ax or RnD Hawk are pretty sweet!

so maybe $300 - $400 more than the Pork Chop

They're buried under o2w orders..... That and someone cut a car in half with a kdsh..... Seems to me that's about as tough as you'd need a hawk to be.....

I don't like the point on the Rattle hawk leading edge as much (or lack of one)

That edge needs to be pointy for jabs and sticking.

Also, most of the cutting power is lost when you make a tip glancing blow.

An infi hawk needs a top point!

And more handle. The rattle hawk handle has no flare. Makes it a bit harder to hang onto when winging it around.

I am perfectly fine with my sr-101 hawk. I think one made out of INFI would be too prohibitively expensive for me to do all the stupid things I do with my kill devil hawk. I think I would like a slightly larger cutting edge though

the Kill Devil with an RMJ-type spike and constructed of INFI would be great. keep it in 3/16 inch thickness and CG to keep it affordable and maybe have a Custom Shop offering, same specs but maybe Comp or satin finish and a .25 inch thickness or 5/16s if you're daring!

No doubt INFI would be a good steel for hawks. For reasons others have already mentioned, I haven't loved any of the bussekin designs so far though. The KDSH was probably closest to the mark for me, but I still sold it and kept my RMJ. I also really dont love that Bussekin uses the same thickness of steel for the entire hawk, and I don't think it's something they'd change.

I'm with ya on the RMJ. I have a Berserker and a Ragnarok (Bawidamann/RMJ Colab). I would love a straight handle Berserker style hawk with a spike

As a collector of hawks, I would love to get my mitts on the Megaladon. If The Bossman offered a hawk, I would be sleeping on the sidewalk for a week to be first in line with my order. You think they would let me plug in my coffee pot, Ill share lol.
