Why no info on Swisstool pliers change?

Sometime last year Victorinox quietly changed their beefy right hand pivoting plier jaws to the pre-2005 version, a left hand pivot with slimmer profile. There are other minor changes, but this seems to me major, especially since the righty had been so highly touted by Vic. There has been very little information or comment about it that I have been able to find, including by email to Vic that hasn't been answered. Are there any among us who might have the inside story on this?
