Why no more ram horn?

Just noticed the ram horn scales was missing as an option for the 110. Anyone know why? I have a ram 110 already. Was just curious why it disspeared from the custom shop
 
I wondered this too. But my neighbor has some sheep and I was looking at them on my way home and noticed none of them have horns??? DM
 
I did one of those online chats with a Buck rep a few months ago. I had notice they changed the Ram Horn picture on their website and they said they got a new supplier. So, maybe the new supplier is just out right now or maybe Buck is changing suppliers again. Hopefully it comes back.

I hope so as well. Much of the real "exotic" stuff like the the horns, koa wood, and the pearl like material are gone now. Walnut and all are nice, but not very unique next to some sprint runs I have seen.

At least the elk is still there. :D
 
Buckshack. I noticed the same thing. I hope you're right about the missing ram horn scales and that its just a supplier issue. Yes Kim I'm happy at least The elk and buffalo scales are still there
 
A time ago I had a email talk to Joe H. And he told: Buck wants to drop ram horn from the list because they have a lot of probs with cracks, loose scales and so on. But later Buck offered ram horn again. I think they had the same problems and dropped it the second time.

Yeah. I wanted one some years back but I heard true Rams horn is prone to warpage, cracks and loose pins. Rams horns are curved.
 
Why not offer more exotic woods like cocobolo,zebrawood, purpleheart etc. I always thought these would be good additions. This is only a partial list I'm sure you have others.

I have seen a limited edition version with D2 and Cocobolo but I hear you for the zebrawood and such. Heck, I would love to see snakewood as well.
 
Me personally I like the born scales over the wood scales. I like the buffalo horn and elk scales. Have one of each. Elk horn shorted the the buffalo horn. They seem to be holding up well. Now they got rid of the ram horn. Would like to seen mor horn scale options
 
I'd love to see the old burgundy micarta like they had on the Old Script 500-series added to the CKS.
