Why no recurve

I decided it was time to get my first Benchmade. Since I've read so much about the 710 and 705 I thought that I would give them serious consideration. I liked the 710 but I thought it was a little too big for an EDC. The 705 seemed perfect (just like everybody says) but the biggest difference difference I noticed was the lack of a recurve on the 705. Any ideas why the 710 has a recurve and the 705 doesn't. Is there a minimum blade length for a recurve?

Anyway, I fell in love with the 940 on the spot and bought it. The good news is that I can still look forward to buying a 705.:)

I don't think you can say that the 705 is too short for a Recurve because the Camillus EDC has one at the same length.

I would say that the 705 is not deep enough (Edge to Spine) for a recurve.
