Why no Solar X-33?

Dumb question, but I wonder why Omega doesn't make a solar powered X-33? If Citizen can give their Skyhawk a 4 year power reserve, you'd think Omega could do something similiar...

I'd really like a X-33, but I HATE batteries...

I own a X-33 and it's still kicking even after 2 years. Batteries are cheap. Besides, the Citizen looks gay.

Good Evening All-

Solar is a "fad" source of energy and always alters the outward appearance of a watch, unlike a mechanical (either automatic or manual wind) or a battery-powered quartz watch.

My Citizen Skyhawk Titanium looks just like any other black-faced watch. And my wife's Citizen Silhouette is an ultra-thin ladies' model with a mother-of-pearl face. Both are Eco-Drive models that charge under normal room light despite their conventional looks. Modern materials and electronics have done away with the need for visible charging components.

My Citizen World Time is also Eco-Drive and looks like any other watch. When I've told people it's solar powered, they usually go "Really? Where's the cell?". :D
