Why not a sharpening sub-forum?

It appears that most of the sharpening info is in the Toolshed. I imagine that this has been asked before, but why not a separate sub-forum for sharpening?

I will venture to say. . . .it doesn't or wouldn't generate the necessary traffic to open a specific / separate sub-forum.

Why have a another forum that will discuss the same topics as the Toolshed? That forum pretty much covers it and then some.

Well, I guess I'm pretty literal:
"The Toolshed: Knife Care, Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment", to me says lots more than sharpening.

Sharpening to me could be called maintenance I guess, but it's really a general subject common to all edged tools. There is a lot of information there and a lot of terrific ideas and techniques. It would be nice to see it in one specialized spot. It would be easier to learn and compare notes.

"...Care, Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment" seems to me to be another area entirely. Maybe it's just that I have a lot of old knives and knife projects that need the "care" etc., whereas all of my knives kneed sharpening at some point.

This is not a huge deal for me, just how my mental filing system works.

If Bladeforums divided itself up to match everyone's mental filing system, it would take a few hours just to scan through all the subforums to find the one you wanted. :D

The Toolshed itself is a relatively recent spinoff from Blade Discussion. So far, sharpening seems to be a popular topic, but not nearly enough so to justify its own spinoff.
