I found these pics of the rare 110 fixed blade and wondered why Buck hasn't decided to produce this?

Finally, no nail nick. Never liked the archaic fingernail cut in the 110 blade because I don't use it and it begs for rust and crust to gain a foothold.

That knife is a little handle heavy. I would like to see the stock sheath if one was made for it.

I like the new Thorn for a small fixed blade. Gotta save up for one.

Interesting idea. The photos are somewhat bizarre: not sure Buck actually made such a thing. If so, I have never seen one during a BUNCH of searching. The concept might make sense if the handle were made out of micarta. Would not mind to see a tapered tang also! Brass fixtures tend to be on the heavy side.

Buck did make a few of the fixed blade 110s... That's what I was told anyway...

I think 110 Dave found one at a knife show...

Maybe are BCCI Club will make a small run for us members... :)

Obviously a fixed blade doesn't need a nail notch, but personally I don't like a folder without it. Rust, well that's the beauty of Bucks, never had a nail nick with rust.

Don't need the cut out in the bottom pommel either. I'd like to see a good factory version of a fixed blade 110. I like fixed blade knives but I'm not crazy over the 110, I find it a bit heavy and don't care for heavy folders.

To me Buck did make a fixed blade just like the 110 blade. It was the 102 Woodsman. DM

Well the 110 is supposed to be a folding version of fixed blade hunting knives of that time so it kind of defeats the purpose of the 110's existence. Right?

:foot:
From a 110dave post in 2010. You do learn something everyday

"Joe Houser has only seen one and wants to see this one
they were made in the custom shop for fellow employees
when they were allowed to ask for a yearly knife most times
as i understand it each anversary they were alowed to ask for a knife
and on 5 year events they could order a real custom
leroy recalls making this knife and who he made it for
so this was a real early one and is odd with the dot stamp and the
4 scale pin handle is rare .. it was a set they had and the pins looked neat so
they used it."

Pretty cool find RGT. I think a 118 is already pretty close to a fixed blade 110 in grip size and blade size, but a fixed blade 110 it would be another neat Buck to own and use. OH

I have thought about…and still think about getting this from a reputable Damascus blade maker, then finishing the handle myself.

I hope the guy doesn't mind me posting his photo here. I really have thought about buying several of his blades fashioned after a Buck 110. This being one of those;

He clearly states he made this blade and that it was fashioned after a Buck 110, so I see nothing at all wrong with it.
I'll gladly remove the picture if I'm breaking any rules, but I do see others lift photos from someone else and post them here on BF. :)

I've been quite happy with Grand's Damascus. I've seen other Buck makers use it often.
I think that would make a cool knife Stumps. Add some vintage Ebony handles and she'd be sweeet IMO.

they made all 110 s like fixed blade, just open , place in sheath, and it will never jump lock. See triplerknives leroy remer or jeff at Stoneknives they can make one. easy. and leroy would have the answer to any buck question ever presented.

It seems natural they would offer a slightly larger version of the 113. I know some don't like the 113 because it is smaller, so just make it bigger. For a hunting knife, I like the blade shape better on the 113 than the 112 anyway. YMMV pf course

YOWSER
dang my hide if'n dat don't look jest exallity like my hard to close 110...
yep I do belive it is my 110 ... the buck stamp is stamped 2times is why it be a bit fuzzy looking
lol sure wander were he come up with the pictures
as I recall there are about 6 of these were made and I think this was the only one with the 4 rivets ...
any way Leroy and Joe both wanted to see it and they did at the blade show...
hay it could happen they make more ... don't know ....
