Why not make a homemade Busse folder?

(Disclaimer: Complete respect to Jerry and crew but this question has been bugging me since so it begged to be asked)

Since I've been casual lurker of Busse knives for years, I've came to see that they will probably never make a Busse folder. I'm sure the reasons are good for not making one but that still didn't stop the silent demand for them regardless.

So, my question is this:

Why can't we just get 2 good size Busse knives and 1 knife of preferred blade design and make one ourselves? Just size out the INFI metals to cut out for handles, choose a knife with a preferred blade shape. Then use water jet (to preserve the heat treat), shape the handles and cut off the blade while shaping bottom of blade into a flipper style design. After sizing it up, computerizing it if need be to get it all right, etc then finally put it together! Voila! Busse folder!

Shouldn't be too hard to use the computerized water jet to pretty up the INFI handle into any style you want. At least the whole knife will be mostly (if not all) INFI in the end.

Yes, I'm aware that it will void warranty and cost a pretty penny for this project but to be frank, those things are besides the point. The outcome should be worth such wallet setback and loss of warranty. It's a Busse folder! :p

there have been a few made that way.

I'll wait for the real-deal.
It WILL happen... when Jerry comes out from under his bed.
:D

Wouldnt be a Busse folder then....just a folder made with Infi. Not the same by any means.

i think i saw somebody maybe randucci?? make a friction folder out of INFI but my memory might be fuzzy. im sure there have been some too many knife nuts out there with power tools :D i will wait for the real thing and buy customs till that day comes.

Found a pic.

Mmm...3 sister forge + Busse Company = a folder that is very hard to break.

Makes a lot of sense.

lol! Thank You Dwaine!!! :D
Let me say that Tim is a Master Craftsman! I wish he'd start making knives.

There are more than a few out there. If they weren't secret, I could show you pictures of the Cubera.

But then Jerry would have to kill you.

There are a few customs, including autos, that are just plain knock outs!

I had it in my mind to do. I finally ended up with some pieces of broken INFI to make two folders. But just never had the scratch to get it done at that time. I sold that to some one else, but never saw what he did with the pieces.

I have some great folder pics, if no one posts the ones they own, I might have to make a drive by post with them.

Cubera?!?!??!!??!?!

There's a pic or two of Jaxx around here holding a newer proto than the Cubera, that was at...3 Blade shows ago?

Plus the friction folder from Randucci made from a scotch dispenser, there's been a couple SAR3 folders, a SARsquatch (blade got reground quite a bit), and a couple other models
