I know you all are crazy about waiting HR arrive at door, but I really would like to know......

When Busse decide to remake new AK-47, how come Jerry did not cross his mind to make it longer......something like 25-28 inch blade??

I have been seeking for a good sword... i have found, all good makers such as: Busse, Chris Reeve & Mineral Mountain...etc. only produce long knife that is in total length around 29-30 inches.

They must have a very good reason behind it, but i can't figure out.....longer blade just looks so much cooler!!!

Why....

Perhaps Jerry only produce IT for himself to keep.

cause they probably couldnt have made it at that length. i recall jerry saying that he was pushing the limits of the equipments ability to cut the blade profile, and im impressed they made it at all.

its also difficult to make a blade that long while maintaining usability and functional strength. the longer you get, the more the stressor factors stack up against it upon impacts

Actually, the AK-47 is a full 3 inches longer than the original American Kensei. . .

The AK-47 pushes the length limitations of those strapping it to a ruck.

We still make custom swords that are much longer but they cost a whole lot more!!!

:D

(should have added in a production run)

very tempting to get a full sized heavier sori ak.....

hehehe, Very good to hear about that. How much are we talking about "whole lot more" :D

Man, Busse people are so good, always make me happy. That is customer service.

Man, I thought it was that length so it could be carried concealed in one's inseam without being "discovered"...

Speaking of longer swords...whatever happened to the "Dragon Fang"? That thing is sweet!:D

Mike,
I shit you not, I remember when we went out to Vegas for the SOF Convention a few years ago and met a guy who was tall enough to carry his original AK in an inside-the-pants sheath. He was about 6`6" or 6`7" and kept the handle covered with the tail of a loose shirt.
A guy that big turns heads already. But when he pulls a sword out of his pants in the middle of a crowd, people do a double take like you wouldn`t believe.:D

PS- Sorry, I`m gonna have to back out of the trade for one of my step daughters. The wife found out what I was trying to do and put her foot down.
She pointed out that
A) They`re her flesh and blood.
B) They`re 18 and 19. That`s consecutive serial #`s. Can`t break up the set.
C) "Winter`s almost over, you don`t NEED an snowblower."
I think she`s got a trade for a dishwasher lined up.

Yep, Lukers is right: that Dragon Fang sure took some sweet pics; most photogenic sword i know...
Stil waitin for Jerry to show me her sees-ter...

You got love it.. started to see more and more Cali Busse owners posting! Jerry it would be great if you'd come to California to do a show! Please!

I'd have to say anything longer would, as previously said, put a lot of stress on the blade and for what users do (see Dave Brown) it may cause people to have to use that amazing warranty we're all so proud of. But then we are talking about INFI aren't we, .... hmmmmm is longer really better or is it what you do with it that counts? :D

Yes, Jer, OTHERS are clamoring, too; it's NOT just me!
(See Solstice' post above...)
Ya just gotta come to Cali~ ....
i've been sayin' it...

Customs used to be $100/inch, total length. This was awhile back, prices may have gone up.

So, for what you want, figure on $3000+.

Time to get a second job. LOL
