Do I buy things when I don't need them? Just bought 5 of these for $103 and change.

if you bought 5 LB7s just like the one pictured, you got a hellava good deal.
the LB7 is my favorite knife, not just my favorite Schrade. i have bought about 20 in the last 6 months. feeling any better now ? roland

I do feel some better. I just tend to buy a lot of stuff, if it's cheap. I saw these at $17.99 and thought... more china stuff, but looked at the picture, and looked again. Did a quick search of prices in this type box, and saw someone had sold several of these at $46, plus shipping, figured it was a good deal, and jumped on it.
All the while thinking someone from here would be buying them before I got back to the "buy" button. Lucky for me you were not looking at them.

Mountainwind (i like that name), you did v. v. well on that buy. for me that would rate as buy of the year. i don't ever buy because i think i could re-sell for more. i buy knives because i am addicted to buying knives. ebay cut me off for a few hours after i tried to use a snipe service. i went into withdrawl.

Granted I might sell a couple if I need the money for another knife, but collecting is also part of my retirement. It gives me something to occupy my time now, and years down the road, when old age is here, I will start selling for extra money. I really doubt social security is going to be here in another 10 years. So we have to plan ahead.

Well, they arrived today... I was a tad disappointed. They all have Geocel on the blade, not sure of the company. But, for the price, I am happy with the purchase.
If nothing else, they will make great gifts. Or..... maybe not :)

Yes, they are SFOs. If you are unhappy with the etch, you can remove it. ISC commonly did this with overruns, even popping out and replacing shields. That was still a good price for them, even if they bear an etch of an obscure corporation.

If interested Moutainwind, link to the Geocel web site, I have spoken to some people in the past and many seem to have a preference of collectabilty depending on who the SFO was made for. the more well known the company, the more collectible.
