I've been thinking about ordering a Satin Jack TAC from the Busse Combat site for a while now but have not because I want the double cut finish. Why do they not offer it? It seems like I've been checking for a long time now and I never or have yet to see any other finish offerings. If they offered it, how long ago was it?

thanks

Attention Garth! Here is another poor soul who is jonesing for a DCBB SJ TAC! Let's get some made for the Company Store bubba!!!!!! :D:D:D

Silas, Skunk and I have been trying to convey the need for DCBB SJ TACs so thanks for bringing it up again. :D

I called and asked if it was in the cards and I was told NO! I decided that I would take my chances at the Co Store. If I had a bead blaster (and $430), I would buy the Jack Tak HOG and do it myself. :D

I also emailed the shop asking if they would make one. Nope. I ended up ordering a tan, but i would have loved a double cut. I HOPE they don't get some at the company store after I couldn't get one originally. that would kill me.

Never email.... call them on the phone :D  :D

On a full convex grind blade like the SJ TAC a DCBB finish might not stay pretty for long. Unless you reprofiled it sharpening would mess up quite a bit of the finish near the edge.

I really, really, really wanted to get the SJT in double cut also. I ended up getting des tan w/snakeskin :( Oh yeah, I called and was told not even the CO. Store would get dc :grumpy:

Actually I have a SHSHII that is bead blasted and it has a convex, zero type edge and I find the contrast between the mirror polished edge and the bead blasting to be quite nice, just like on the axe that I have to match it. :D

A satin option on the 3/16 version would have been very nice. Hopefully it will be available next time round.

Wanted DC/green micarta. Sucked it up and went for tan/tan. I've heard raves about the tan coating. Now I get to abuse it myself. When it gets here, that is.
