I see that a lot of people are removing the thumb ramp from your BK7 & BK9s. Just curious what the pros/cons are of having the ramp vs the flat top.

Thanks guys!

Saluki,i am one that do like the thumb ramp,i like how it feels due to my small hands, find it usefull in some cases and like the profile of the knife with it.this being said,i removed it on one of my 7 and i like it as well.i guess it s all preference and if you can do it why not?

a good spot in my opinion to strike a firesteel more control closer to the handle espically on a larger knife

I removed mine because when I choked up on the blade the very peak of the thumb ramp landed in the middle of my thumb. So for me it was not comfortable. This way is much more ergonomic for me. Here she is without it.

Ya know, I've never really been interested in the 7 at all - always been more is a drop point guy, so I've just ignored the clip point of the 7. But the more you keep posting pics of yours Greebe, the more I'm starting to lust over it. Maybe it's the lack of ramp and the patina you put on it; it's really starting to call to me. Awesome job Greebe; now I've got yet another knife to put on my list...:)

I like the "Thumb Ramp" as it just makes the Knife feel like a Knife should feel ~~ you know -- that good kind of feeling.!^^^

I'm also a fan of the thumb ramp. It really sets off the knife vs so many other fixed blades. When you see it, you know it's a Becker.
