Why should I buy a Ranger?

Let me be clear - I think I own too many knives and I really don't want to buy any more.

But I am severely tempted to buy a Ranger, either an RD7 or RD9.

Can somebody here suggest a reason why I shouldn't get one? Maybe it's not a good chopper, maybe the steel is not too good or it's hard to keep an edge, or it's hard to sharpen? Something. Anything.

Please, help me out here. Thanks.

I own a couple of Justin's custom knives and like them alot, they perform well beyond my expectations. If you truly "must have" a RD7 or RD9 I KNOW you will love it IF you use it. Justin's knives are meant to perform.

You shouldn't buy a Ranger for yourself because it's much more fun and satisfying to buy them for other people.... like me! :D

Seriously though... if you came to this forum looking for a reason NOT to buy a knife... well, you're not gonna find it, particularly since you're talking about a respectable company.

my only input is to not expect it to be a slicer. it's a chopper. 1/4" thick and built like a tank.

Great knives made by a stand up guy.

As said above, they’re choppers, not slicers.

I’ve got an RD7 and a custom RD6 made from 3V, and I’m bound to buy another Ranger.

They are great knives and take a beating plus Justins service really rocks I think you will like the RD series alot I have all of them I like the RD6 the best it is meant to take a big beating. I am thinking of a satin RD6 steve-sagecreek special with blaze orange scales.

Oh DD, your primary mistake here is your reasoning that you DO NOT NEED another knife. You see that is faulty reasoning. That's like going to the pizza buffett and saying "I don't need another piece of pizza", when all along you know your going back up there to get another piece of pizza.

DD............BUY THE KNIFE!! :D :)
