It requires patience ... something that is in short supply, these days.
Most folks are unwilling to wait weeks or months for satisfaction.

Turns out that most users are blocked from reading this forum. Not much exposure = not much activity. I don't even bother posting ads here anymore. It's dead Jim. It's dead.
I'm just a basic member and I can read this forum?
I'm too broke to pay for a "Exchange" membership right now. (it will have to wait until I find work)
However, if a member listed a want item on here, and assuming I had something they wanted, would it be OK for me to sell it to them?
For instance... I have three very popular knives I really need to sell and I'm hoping someone from the RC forum would put up a want post that I may be able to fulfill. I'd rather see my knives go to a Rat Pack Member or a BladeForum Member than put them up on on a auction site so...I just keep checking this forum.

Even Registered Users can post a Want-to-Buy.
Only Gold members or above can read them.
So a non-selling member (below Gold) will not see the other posts that are actually there, only his own.

It took me the longest time to figure out how that subforum works, never seeing anything there. After upgrading to Gold I noticed that there are actually posts there. And then, suddenly, a kind of a "Oh, OK. Now I get it." -moment.
