cause they think they can, or they wouldn't price it that way.

two things happen...it sells well and Buck pricing folks were right. it doesn't sell well and they lower the price.

its a limited run. so geared towards collectors and materials are trying to hit the original one, so thats why......

I could see a $150 for nostalgic reasons alone but that price is ridiculous. JMO

Remember it's "Up To" 1,000..As a long time collector of 112's I also thought it was high. I still plan to get one maybe used and do a old fashioned auto conversion but like any other product just say no if the price is too high. I would have loved to be in the meeting when the price was set..Maybe the new CEO had something to do with pricing on this particular 112..Maybe just to prove a point or even as a experiment?

The 40 dollar plane Jane 112 with the anvil stamp is much more desirable imo. I plan to pick up 3 or 4 before the year is out. Imo, of bucks latest released "le" knives, only a couple are worth the money. But everyone's taste is different so who knows. I "over pay" for new knives, but there has to be a reason to do so.

I purchased one because my 112 collection required it but I agree the price was a premium. Bucks pricing strategy was correct knowing purchasers like myself were captive. There were several threads in the past about this very issue and my recollection was most felt a true "original" could be purchased for less. All that said, excluding LE's and BOTM's, I feel most standard Buck knives offer excellent quality and value.

Just remember that using a different steel than they normally work with these days is a change that will add production costs especially when on a small run.

This does sound kind of high priced though, even with the understanding that it has to cost more to some extent.

I bought one, but got mine around $280. They are $300 on the BCCI club page if your a member. Its worth about $175 in my opinion. I collect old 3 pin 112’s so I had to get it. Not sure it will retain its original value….….

I bought one. I probably spent way too much money on it but I don't really care. I carried it at my son's wedding. Gave it to him at the reception. Instead of a wedding cake they had little personal sized wedding pies. He and his bride cut their wedding pie with the knife as there were no other knives around. I think it is a great story for a limited production knife!

That really is a great story.

There is only 52 left…of the 1000 units of the 112 tribute…
took a while to sell them at that sky high price.

I saw one on ebay that sold for around $200 bucks a while ago on auction.

there is still 244 left of last months BOTM 119 at $200 a pop.

Wow Collector knife for sure. Don't go stickin that in the ground. Still a great Buck to own.
