Why spear point blade

Long time RMK fan, I've always ask myself a question.
Why do Randall change the clip or bowie point blade
into spear point blade when sawteeth are added (exept M1)?

Per Gary Randall 10-22-2002: The Model 18 blade style is used for the 14 and 15 sawteeth models in that it makes for a stronger blade when finished. Regards, Rhett Stidham
