I would love to see one of these guys get yanked down by their dreds! Highschool and college my coach would have cut that crap on the first day of practice!
I guess it looks cool. :jerkit:

I did find this...........

"Quite surprisingly, there are no actual rules against hair pulling in the NFL. The "Ricky Rule" is somewhat the law-of-the-land, where a player's hair that falls past his helmet is considered to be part of the uniform--and can be used to make a tackle. This "rule" was named after Ricky Williams, who sported long dreadlocks throughout most of his professional football career. Although hair pulling isn't "illegal" in the NFL, it is something that's frowned upon--by both the officials, as well as those players with longer hair. Hair pulling within the game is perfectly OK when making a tackle; however, a player can be fined for "unnecessary roughness" if the hair is pulled after the play is over."

Guys get tackled by their hair all the time. Troy Polamalu was returning a fumble one upon a time and got tackled by his hair by the fumbling running back. The tackle was clean but he also picked troy back up by his hair, and thus was hit with a 15 yard penalty.

They are in the business of entertainment, whatever they can do to help them stick out and entertain is what they will do.

Attention Wh...s . Look at me . Look at me I guess it is a fad. You didn't see that kinda crap back in the days when real men played the game, and wore leather helmets :D

I don't think you will find too many "styles", be it hair or clothing or anything, still around from that era. Doesn't make people "attention wh...s."

Sadly that is true. Back in the good ol' days, men wore their pant up where they were suppose to be. Not hanging around their knees, with their underwear showin...
Don't kid yourself, most of the Professional athletes live for attention. Sure there are some that don't, but they are in the minority

Attention is what gets them their paycheck. They'd all be out of a job if everyone ignored them.

On a seperate note, if hairstyle concerns are the reason you're watching football you may be doing it wrong.

No, I do understand. It seemed when I played we did everything possible to have nothing for the defense to grab. In fact for us running backs they gave us smaller jerseys to make them tight fitting.

I remember watching a football game a couple of years ago and two players got in a fight.... one of the guys grabbed the other's dreds and yanked him down during the fight. He got ejected from the game though... kinda made me laugh.
