Why The Framelock?

I noticed a trend in that it seems a lot of favored high end knife models end up being frame locks. Usually TI framelocks. You have Hinderers, CRKs, Striders, LionSteel, and Crusader Forge for example. Why the frame lock, and why specifically TI?

I know there are thousands of non-TI framelock knives out there, but the TI framelocks always seem to be among the most popular. For what it's worth, I own a ZT 0561 and LOVE it.
 
Because it's simple, hi-tech, lite weight, and just plainly works well.
