ok so this thread is for all of you kershaw offset nuts out there to come and talk about our fav kershaw, the offset. if you have pics post them. if you have a question, post it. a review, post it also.

i will start.

top 5 reasons i love the offset:

5. beautiful from when i first saw it in 2005.

4. size. large hands like large knife!

3. inovation.

2. its freaky sharp. just read some of the threads about it http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=399757&highlight=offset like this one

and finally...

1. the coolest blade geo i have ever seen.

ok everyone, ur turn

The shape of the blade is amazing. The technology that went into it as well!

The good solid "thwack!" when it snaps open. :D

Hmmm... now that there is a Kershaw factory forum, maybe it would be a good time for a little move? This does seem like a Kershaw related thread.

Any moderators out there agree? What do you think offsetlover, could this thread use a new home?

Moving to the NEW KERSHAW FORUM!!!!!

Yeah I love mine too . . .thinking of making a holster for it . . thing is big, maybe a Kydex. I got the 0005/1000.;)

anyhow. im thinking of the offset, the offset, the offset. oh im thinking of the offset, the offset, all day long.

Considering the time of the post, wouldn't that be all night long?

off topic a bit, but whatever happened with your blur?

true true. gee what to dream about.............

thomas came through big time. :D :D :D lets just say im happy :D  :D

ur lucky. lets see the holster if you make it. it be cool

it wouldn't cost much I had a small kydex made for abother knife that was $45.

The only thing is I'd have to send it off and then wait until he mocks a couple up for me. Kind of a pain and I don't want to miss my offset.

i know we all love the aesthetics of our kershaw knives but how about some objective reasons why the offset is so useful? like.. in what tasks does the blade shape/size excel?

Well much like the Bump it has a great recurved point in the middle of the blade in which to cut with, I find it even more useful and effective( sharp as hell) than the Bump.

Although for carry, it is larger so, you may have a bit a more trouble with EDC, but still fun to do. It lets you know that it’s there ready for duty.

Most of all it is a confy fit with my hands (which aren't large hands) with the 3d machined handle and quite something to look at, scary to the sheeple and knife nuts go crazy over it Although it's not my intention to scare anyone with it, it is something to see when you whip it out in front of a person who doesn’t know much about knives. All it takes is a short explanation (why I carry, which I have gotten pretty good at) and introduction to the knife (and it's uses) and you can see the them begin to appreciate the knife as well.

I think because of the blade size it makes those big cutting task whimper away with ease and it can be used to great effectiveness in the kitchen as well. I cooked a dinner for my friends and fine chopped cilantro and skinned some cucumbers and various other needs with ease as well (sure I have kitchen knives, but I was curious as to how it would perform). The tip is also scorer and is great for little things, and with the curve on the spine of the blade, you can hold it firmly for detailed work as well.

Honestly, for use, it's a knife . . . you will see it works for may as many tasks as any other knife and may just see some difference in how the size works for you in the situation, I love the recurve the most and I find it gives it that watch-out-this-is-a-dangerous tool look that dose wonders for my ego!:D

I'm sure it would, I have heard it rated as a nice companion to a wsk, and similar in ways to it as far as it's style.

and

Well, congrats on the number 200, don't know where I'm at, gotta take a look.

I love G-10 handles. :) So the knife may have a chance after all (never liked aluminum and the same for the handles) :o

I saw G-10 Offsets being built today, so the first run should ship by the end of the week.
