Why the limited viewing for non registred users?

I don't know Spark's reasons, but the most logical would be bandwidth.

  • You can't view pictures hosted by BFC if you're not logged in and therefore it minimises hotlinking of pics / articles.
  • neither can Yahoo's Slurp Engine crawl the "locked" forums. They already have about 300+ robots "slurping" the open forums as it is.

compared to some sites, this one functions very smooth
 
Another way to look at it is that it is the Community Forums. So join the community. :D.
