You folks make me proud to be among you. Thank you for being civil in the face of incivility- also kind and generous of spirit. You make me feel like family, and I hope that Yangdu does too. And also Bill and Rusty and all the other cantinistas gone west feel the same warmth. What does this have to do with khukris? You know.

Yes. Just...Yes.

(Yangdu told me today that I was in exactly the right place in the forum, doing the right things, my karma, my dharma work. Coming from her, on this the anniversary of our Friends passing, meant a lot to me.)

Bri in Chi - civility in the face of the uncivil.

Misunderstanding and negative words are a part of life, but we don't have to let them stop the laughter and the good stuff.

Nothing's happened- we're OK. If there were a band I'd tell them to play some more and that the pitchers of beer are empty out on the balcony.

I fully agree with this post. What a great group of people here, a true class act. I have never seen a forum like this where everyone is so rational, generous and civil. Great group of people supporting an awesome product.

This forum rocks!!

Watch it guys..this an attempt to incite - not a queue, but mad
sword swinging, khukri slashing, screaming, stampede to the beer barrels:thumbup:

Having a trouble maker for a mod, is a cross we must bear/bare?

:D

I don't even drink the stuff. I was trying to help you guys. Those empty pitchers are starting to draw flies, too. Uh? What's that? Too late; the waitress just grabbed them.

*You* are an important part of the family feel Brian...as is each of the other good guys here.

This place is wonderful, the best forum I know, and I'm happy its going strong. I am learning patience and class from you lot faster than I have ever been able to any other way. You have effected my life in a most positive way, and I thank you all. My wife has even noticed it and attributes her patience with my typing and the knives to this effect. Thank you all.

Absolutely Brian:thumbup: And like Nasty said you're a big part of it.

I wrote in an email to someone recently that this place is really unique. Where else can you find MEN yes MEN, big, knife wielding men..whom society assumes to be emotionally bottled up, insensitive--where else can you find such men having soul to soul conversations about life? Where people come to ask for smoke and prayers as often as to post a joke--and to offer help to friends in need.

Yep, this is a new model for the way things can be:thumbup:

Brian, edited to add at the top, thanks for the great thread!

I can't imagine not having this place. Just like I go home at night and get comfortable. Other forums are fun places to visit and lots can be learned, but this place is chock full of all these kind-hearted people with good spirits.

I crack my wife up, talking about Yangdu and Munk and Nasty (she gets a kick out of that one!), and Yvsa and Hollowdweller and Kismet and Noah Zark and Aardvark and Steely-gunz and Bladite and Brian in Chi and Kamkazmoto (almost forgot!) and Mauirob and Not2sharp and Spectre and Big Bob and Sarge and DannyinJapan and all these other great names that I am not mentioning here (Sorry! feel like I am at the Oscars) and what they posted, but she doesn't know the people behind those names, just that I am a happier person for knowing them. She also knows now about Mike and Dave and Joe and Andy and Dick and Steve and Dan, as new friends that I correspond with as well, so when I mention their names she understands. (I always seem to mention Steve and Ram together, so she probably thinks they really are brothers.)

Of course Kumar and Bura and Sher and Sgt. Khadka are mentioned often as well, but I think she just puts them all in the same mental bucket, which I guess they are. They are all part of the forum.

So, we are all here ostensibly for HI knives, but that's just part of the common glue that holds us together. The real thing is the indefinable spirit of the place.

I know that sounds corny, but hey, it's true! At least for me...

Uncle Bill set the tone for the forum.
His honesty and integrity were infectious and influenced all of us for the better.

Yep! I always took that "one man can make a difference" stuff with a grain of salt, but Uncle Bill proved it to me in a way that I could personally understand. The right man with the right product and philosophy and personal code at the right time, and the correct forum from which to launch it.

Actually, we are twins separated at birth. Why are you taller than me?

Bri,
Thanks for this nice thread. I can't do anything but agree with you.

The family that adopted me only fed me artificial feed with hormones?

I'd be honored Brian...

Isn't it strange that such a place exists? And isn't it even more strange that it can be found by searching google for "himalayan knife brazos"? :D

Anyway, I really can't say how much I honor this place and care for its members.

If only the world worked like it does here, guys. There'd be no major strife, and plenty of firewood and Heineken to go around.

Well, here's a toast to this place and everything it means to each of us.

Oh, and Bri in Chi, thanks for using the "what has this to do with khukuris" line. That's one of my favorites.

Best wishes always,

Chris
