Well I am the new proud owner of a zaan. I will be posting pics and a review later. I was just wondering what are the advantages of the titanium handle?? Is it rust proof, lighter, stronger or any of the above??? Just curious either way I love it. Thanks for any input

No rust, compared to a most other metals it's warmer (doesn't feel as cold as steel or other metals and warms up to your hand faster.) Strength to weight ration is huge. Good material, a bit pricey but a common and solid choice for liners and slabs.

You pretty much got it, it dosnt rust, its light but strong (about 40% lighter than steel but has similar "strength")
Its also just a cool  material and can be heat coloured pretty easily of you want coulour or paterns on the handle.
Steel wont do this like Ti does and Aluminium needs anodised and has no where near the properties needed for a lock but is ok for scales over a Ti or steel liner.

Ti is just a better choice in the face of the other things available IMO and keep the number of needed parts down.
You can just use two bits of Ti for a handle rather than having to make scales and liners, it is expensive though.

It also has spring like properties that make it suitable for clips and locks.
