Hello, I was aware that some years back, there was a Spyderco sale section in a similar way you see one for Carothers, or other brands, I doubt lack of use was the reason for removal, I would however suspect fakes to be.

Secondary question, do you guys disclose how a company gets the opportunity to have their own subforum on the Exchange?
I was thinking certain companies, if in good standing with BF, could be offered a subforum for a fee, or if sales of X brand knife are taking up majority space on the usual Exchange, so it is a matter of prudency as much as courtesy or convenience? But I don't know.

I just have a curiosity, hope this is the right place to ask. Thanks for any info!

Rules For The Exchange & Discussion Forums - (All Rules Apply Site-Wide)

MANUFACTURERS - Manufacturers & their designated moderators may offer items for sale in their dedicated Hosted Manufacturer Forum. Manufacturers are encouraged to contact us regarding a Hosted Manufacturer forum.

KNIFEMAKER / CRAFTSMAN / SERVICE PROVIDER (hearafter referred to as "Knifemaker") - Knifemaker's are allowed to sell items that they have personally created or modified in the KnifeMaker For Sale forums, or their own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum. If you are a knifemaker or craftsman and would like your own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum, please contact us.
Note, if you pay for 3 years at once, you can have your very own subforum and you save a bit of cash rather than buying one year at a time. This might be an option for the seasoned and serious members.

A spyderco sales section here would have been before my time (basically 9 yrs). Manufacturers or Makers can sell in their own subforums. Makers can also use their specific section of the Exchange. Some, like Carothers, utilize both options.

Company specific sections on the Exchange have been driven by high volume - CRK, Buck, and Busse are the ones that come to mind. I've seen requests for others made by the membership, and Spark's response was something akin to Show me the need - if the volume justifies it, I'll do it.

There hasn’t been a specific Spyderco sale section since I’ve been here.
