Why we buy Busse's

I was clearing out old emails from my computer and came across this letter from a "newbie" to Busse after he received the Custom SFNO "satin with white horn/ black G- Rex configuration" I had sold him a couple of years ago. I decided I should read this letter every time I decided to buy a "different" brand of knife to try out. "maybe if I did, I would not have to post in the other manufactured individual sales forum on this site" anyways, I love reading this because I reminds me of how I feel when I play with my Busses..

Frank,

I was working at home today just making a sandwich when my
doorbell rang. My "Beauty Queen" SFNO had arrived.

I have never seen or held a Busse before. I only knew
about them from all my reading and picture viewing on the net.
I remember the first time I opened my Benchmade folder (I've now
had it for about 20 years). It was the first knife of quality that I
had ever opened and the action was like butter, unlike every other knife I had
ever opened. My world instantly changed as I learned what folders could be (I now know of > even better ones, like the Sebenzas).
When I opened the package and pulled the SFNO out, I was not
thinking about my Benchmade experience, at least not until I hefted the SFNO for a moment.then BANG it happened again-it became instantly clear
that every other fixed blade I had ever held in my life was crap. The
balance, the > weight, and of course the beauty. I knew that everything I have read about Busse knives were true and that I gained a lifelong companion.
When it comes to gear, I do love to research, save up, and then
buy the best (for me). My goal is to have a few really nice, high
quality things, instead of a bunch of medium quality stuff. I fear
that my wife will never understand the satisfaction I get every time I use a piece of high quality gear.
Even though it is a "Beauty Queen", I didn't buy this knife to
sit in a safe. I bought to use it every day. Whether it is to chop
vegetables, ride on my belt during outings, yard work, or emergencies.
So after I opened it, hefted it, marveled at it for a second, I
washed the blade and cut my sandwich (then washed the blade again.)
Although at some pint I may regret something I do with this
knife, I will never regret buying it.
All I can say is Wow!

That's a beautiful knife, and I'm happy to read it's being used. It looks like a very capable slicer and it's good that it's out there doing what it's meant for, in addition to being a piece of functional art. Hopefully its owner is using it around others who can learn from it what "quality" really means. It's an understanding I've taken from my knife interest and applied to other aspects of my life, to my benefit.

Sharp looking SFNO,

and the letter speaks the truth. There is just something about Busses that justify spending that much on a knife.

This is why I buy Busse Knives... >Amy-O. :)

Pretty soon Jaxx won't be the only one Amy has a restraining order on. :p:D

lol!
Amy never should have hugged me in Easton.
:p:D

I can't really blame Lycosa. There IS just something about a hug from Amy... Pure heaven!!

Problem is that the more hugs ya receive from Amy over time, the more you miss 'em, the more you want to stalk her...and the more restraining orders ya get!! :o ;):D
