Why won’t my iPhone allow automatic calling?

I got a new iPhone SE recently and I was looking for a watch repair place on google. I found one and hit the button to call it and it was blocked. I assumed google might have thought it was a fake number or something? Then I tried 2 or 3 more businesses with the same result.

How do I fix this?

The dialog box on your screen shot does prompt to let the call go through. Sounds like an automatic security feature to prevent the phone from automatically calling any number is sees on a web site. You wouldn't want the phone to dial a random number to a foreign exchange and rack up a huge bill.

This is the first iPhone that I’ve had that it does this.

If you have initiated a call(s) through Safari and pressed 'cancel' more than once without completing the call you might see this.
Pressing "Allow Call" should reset the security feature, and in the future you should see the expected options to "Call" or "Cancel".

It was the first time that I’ve tried calling these places.

So from the google pic, you can see the options to call so I hit call then it pops up the number like the second pic and I hit the call button with the number but then nothing happens.

Sorry I don't know then. I tried calling them through Google like you did and it worked for me.
iOS 16 did add some security/privacy features but I don't know of any settings you can change manually.

Can you make a call if you dial the number directly?

Yes I just have to get off the internet and type it in manually.

I might have to take it into the Apple Store and see if they can figure it out.
