Why Won't Benchmade Let Me Love Their Ergonomics?

So, I desperately wanted a Benchmade. I looked over specs and what not for a while, then came to the ever important "actually holding the knife" part of deciding. I don't know if I'm overly picky, but ergonomics are huge for me. I did not love a single Benchmade's ergonomics. I was looking at quite a few: the Adamas, Contego, 710, 530, Rift, Griptilian, Mini-Griptilian, 940, and whatever else the booth had. The Adamas seemed ridiculously wide to me, I regrettably didn't get to see a Contego, my hand didn't feel secure in the 710, the 530 felt too thin and short, I didn't like the handle shape (weird choil at the bottom) of the rift and it was a big wide, I don't really hate the Griptilian but it felt cheaper than the rest, the Mini-Grip was too short and seemed too thick for how short it was, the Onslaught was just ridiculous..... but the 940 felt the best. I ended up finding a good price (I think, is $150 good?) and pulled the trigger. I just got it, early, and I love it. I love the Axis, there's no parallel, and I love the blade. But I don't love the handle. I wish the choil was more rounded. I wish it didn't taper so much at the bottom. Strangely, I also wish the aluminum was a bit smoother.

Does anyone else have this problem of not loving any Benchmade ergonomics? Am I just spoiled by the absolutely perfect (for me) ergonomics of the Native? Can anyone give any suggestions from my ranting for a Benchmade that I might love the handle (I'm thinking I should check out a Contego, but where can I do that?)?

HELP!

You could get the Griptilian and some aftermarket scales. You could also try the bone collector series. I have one of the small bone collector lockbacks and I really love it.

I just don't understand how I don't love any of their production handles. I was looking for an axis locker too.

They've cancelled their best models, at least the few I liked the most: the AFCK and 910.

Actually, I take it back, the Onslaught 741 has very very comfortable handles.

Just traded one of my para 2s for a 940 the handle is way to small compared to a Para don't think i will be keeping it love the blade and the lock. I guess it would be a good backup it's light and easy to carry .

I just got a mini bone collector and love the handle....also got a full sized griptilian and it feels alright to me.

The full size onslaught just was over the top for me, while the mini felt too small in my hand.

I've never had a para 2. I would like to try out the compression lock at some point.

I didn't mind my brother's full sized bone collector, but it was too thick. and I'm not super into d2.

I guess I'm too picky.

I had a few knives in my time never had one that felt better in my hand than a Para 2. I have nothing against Benchmade i have had quite a few but i think my Para has put me off most of there models . Really have wanted a 940 for a long time but dont think its for me.

I have the 943 and I love it. It's really light and easy to carry around as Legion pointed out. I think the full size Griptilian has pretty good ergonomics. The only problem is that the plastic scales flex when you grip it and pich the part of your hand that is in between the two scales where the blade goes.

And they wont sell you new scales if you happen to break one you will have to send it in .
