Yeah! What's up with that? Not that it does me any good, but I'm still curious.

The only thing I can figure Is it is some sort of Insurance problem.

If you sell in the state in which you reside you have to pay state sales tax. Could be the reason? Just a thought

I love the animals of the forest. They're delicious when properly prepared.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold the great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads...And His tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

I would guess that it is a sales tax issue, I deal with them and they are a pain. If you look up hammerhead knives I believe he carries the greco line. I don't know why greco would not have given the referal? God Bless-paul

Why not just call Greco and find out?
Maybe you can buzz on over to his shop and pick one out for yourself.
Mondo Cool if you can do that.
Visiting a knifemaker is always a treat for knife nuts.
You'll be amazed at how the process is accomplished.
Call him. Worse that can happen is he'll tell you it's against Kentucky law or something.

Thanks for answering this question. Having been born and raised in Kentucky I was wondering what was going on. I assumed it was the sales tax thing.

Knave,
I just moved to Cinti from Lexington. I really love that town. No good knife stores though. It's either Antique and Modern Firearms or the kiosk in the mall. Greco is in Greensburg. Having grown up in Kentucky I'm still not sure where that is. I think it may be closer to Louisville than Lexington.

Now if I could just get back to Lexington early enough in the morning to get some Spauldings donuts. "Mmmm, do-nuts....". They are the best in the world.

Paul Davidson

Them:"What's that clipped to your pocket, a beeper?"
Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."

Paul, I don't know where Greensburg is either. Sad, huh? I concur on the donuts.

Well I only live about 10 miles from Greensburg...It is a very small town with a population of approx. 4000 people...We are about 75-80 miles from Louisville and it's just a little more then that to Lexington. Basically if you look at a map we are right in the heart of the state. I have never been to Greco's shop and I have never even spoke to him. I have been planning on giving him a call one of these days and just see if he would mind if I came over for a visit one day. I could probably make it to his shop in 15 minutes....GEEZ...Is there something wrong with me? I think I'll do that soon...

GeneL74, please visit the Grecos and give us a report.
I have purchased two Greco's and I think he makes the best $100 knife in the world.
He has also given me a considerable amount of his valuable time and expertise on the phone and I learned a lot.
Do it!

I tell you folks what....I am going to give them a call and see if it would be alright if I came down for a visit. If they go for it and would not mind I will take my digital camera and snap some pictures while I am there. I am going to try to do it in the next couple of weeks or so...so stay tuned! If they are o.k. with it, I will post a thread about the experience and pictures of the knifemaking process (Greco style, of course)!
