Why ZT 0302 vs. JunkYard Dog ?

These seem quite similar - but I haven't handled the 302. Convince me to buy one.

Why..................I ask myself the same question. I have a Junk Yard Dog II Titanium SG2 and then I bought another one just in case. I have a ZT 0301 and bought the 0300 just in case and then the ZT205 and then another ZT205 just in case.

So my answer is "Just in Case"

I have a little problem with redundancy

Completely different feel; completely different steel. Spring-assisted opening for when your get up and go has got up and left your index finger. Recurved edge for when you want your cuts to bite deeper at a given level of sharpness (combination of edge acting as though it were thinner and making greater contact with media being cut) and more modest pocketclip with more carrying options.

And of course so you can go "you know, this 302 is awesome, but I keep going back to my Junkyard Dog"

Two dif knives, two dif functions. no rudness ment but this is the truth: shut up, go buy both, report back about how much you like them, sit back and enjoy this disease :P :P:P

Both fine, depends on your use.
JYD? Ti or liner?
Huge diff in the liner/301.
Still diff in the Ti JYD / 301.
301 much heavier, wider, thicker stronger blade. A whole lot more knife there.

I got a Junkyard Dog II Titanium with SG2 Blade after I already had the ZT300. I sold the Junkyard Dog, I still have the ZT300. Why? Well, you really have to handle one to understand.

would be nice to see a pictures of a ZT 3XX next to JYD Ti & Tyrade for today's knife porn fix :jerkit:

:D:D:D

How's the 300 compare to the 200?

Here's the Reader's Digest version:

The 030x is SpeedSafe assisted and the blade is a little taller than the 020x. The 030x is S30V steel, with a G-10 and TI frame-lock setup. 3.75 inch blade and weighs in at 8.6 ounces. The 020x is 154CM steel, a very smooth flipper, 3.875 inch blade, G-10 over a liner lock (but it's one hell of a liner lock!) and weighs in at 7.7 ounces.

Both are stout knives and are built like tanks! But they're are differences in the two!

For just around town JYD2 but hiking I take the 0300 or 0205 because the are more substantial. JYD 2 is light compared to the others.

I'm not sure why that merited the jerkit, but here is a shot of the Big Four:

From thin to thick, it goes JYDII, Tyrade, ZT0300, Offset. They're all users, but the ZT and JYD get the most pocket time. Actually, the JYD gets clipped to the waistband of my sports shorts when I take the dog for a walk. The others are too heavy for that.

Edited to add: Jinx! Buy me a coke.

Thanks for catching that rb.

vpsaline, please don't use the jerkit here...we're Family friendly!

Is it me or is that a different colored Tyrade then usual..?

Go with both :D I carry the 0300 in the front pocket in tip up configuration and in my back right pocket, next to my wallet, is the JYD II with SG2. I love them both. The ZT0300 is my work horse for most my tasks and the JYD II is for when I want a nice slicer or just want to flip something :o:thumbup:
