Why do we (99% guys) refer to knives as being "sweet"? Who started this? Any clues welcome.

After very carefully licking some of
my knives I still don't understand.

Do you all put something on them?

Or am I doing something very wrong?

Oh, Mr. BarnZ, if you do not understand, we can not explain it to you.

A thing either Is, or is Not.

Safety guy, apart from going against your nickname, if you're licking knives, you have a BIG problem

I think It probably came from that saying in sports when you hit that spot, you know, you can tell when you make contact if you've hit that sweet spot.

Well, our only alturnative is: Hella-cool!!! Cartmans friends didnt like it so shweet it is.

I always thought that some time in the past one of our ancestors bit into a blade and proclaimed it "sweet" from the depth of the indentations his teeth made i.e. the original Rockwell hardness testing apparatus

That comes out of my 14 year old nephew's mouth every other minute.

Now I know how annoying it was when my parents had to listen to "Dude" for 5 years...

Sweet or Schweet doesn't really bother me. I've listened to one of my best buds using it for about 15 years now.

What DOES bother me is "Tight" and "Tight, yo."
