Why in the world does True Temper not sharpen their axes before sending them to the stores? I have bought three True Temper Axes from Lowes over the past two years, and not one of them has come sharpened. The newest one is duller than a butter knife; the "edge" feels like the mouth on a drinking glass. On the bright side, I got a new bench grinder for Christmas that I still need to test. :D

I'm guessing it keeps costs down. That, or they figure that like a machete, axe users put their own preferred edge on the axe. All of my True Tempers have been pretty dull, but my Wetterlings all came very sharp. Enjoy the grinder

I sell knives and hawks at arts and craft shows all summer and it never ceases to amaze me how many people run their fingers down the edge of blades. Duhhhhh One guy snapped a small peanut on his thumb while asking me if it was sharp, he found out it was. ;-))) With all the idiotic law suits going on it doesn't surprise me that they worry about liability.

It sounds like you need to put a little sign at your booth "you bleed you buy". :D

;-)) The guy with the peanut ended up buying a two blade trapper, hopefully he doesn't snap that big boy on his thumb. He did bleed all over my booth, I usually have a roll over paper towel to help the cut ones out. ;-))

Regards

Robin
