Whyno BG-42 in Spydie line? (Sal or others)

Spyderco has a good reputation for carefully evaluating steels before putting them into blades. No doubt the co. has tested BG-42. I'm curious if there's any particular reason that BG-42 has been used in the Spydie line?

The small test run of Military Jr's will have BG-42.

Glen - we have done some testing on BG-42. We do have some on hand and JoHn is correct in that we have a Military Jr. design scheduled to test this steel.

We currently have a lot of irons in the fire and it will have to "wait its turn". It is a very nice steel. It seems that there are some heat treating tricks that do make a difference, so we'd like to have this sorted.
