Why's the TGLB sold on BC.com so much cheaper compared to other Busses I have seen?

First let me say I am pretty new to all this.

Now my question is why does it seam that the TGLB sold on bussecombat.com is cheaper than the knives being sold on bussecompanystore.com and cheaper than most of the often much smaller used Busse knives being sold on this forum in the Busse for sale board? I am not understanding it.

Thanks.

It's currently in production so they are easy to come by, the ones that command the higher price have been out of prodution a while making them hard to find hence more valuable.

Most of the models on the exchange are models that Busse no longer makes. Busse makes a knife for an amount of time (all varying), and after the run is done and all the blanks are used, that's it. The supply in that model will no longer increase. So, that comes down to supply, demand, and scarcity. Contant supply with new demand (new customers), will lead to increase in a knife's worth.

Also, there are just some models that they don't make a lot of. There are several small Busses (Game Wardens, AD variants) that have popped up on the X recently that were pricey because they are very rare.

As for the Company Store, at the moment I think the SARGE is still up. They are satin finish, which is always more expensive than a coated blade. So, $3something for a coated LBTG, add about $100 for a satin finish (most normal price increase), and you're at the $430 ish give or take region for a satin blade of the same size (LBTG and the SARGE).

So, age, demand, rarity, blade finish, blade coating (some coatings cost more than others), scale material (micarta vs. G-10), color combo, etc. all reflect the price.

And yes, the TGLB is a great deal. It wouldn't be the worst knife you could buy. :D

plus there is the time factor.................
The company store or the exchange are near instant gratification.
I ordered a TGLB 8/1 with a 6 week wait expected.
I ordered a SARGE 8/2 from Busse Company store..........because I hate to wait....and had it within the week.
I've also snagged a few more off the exchange since my TGLB order...............Dammit, I just realized that even though I ordered the TGLB and got a smokin" price/value.....................Its cost me major bucks in the three pieces of INFI I've had to buy to get me through the wait...........I'm sick:eek:
