I somehow have a feeling that this is one of those questions has a diffrent answer for everybody, but I know little or nothing about these. The knife blade isn't that important to me, as I'll still carry my Sebenza or LCC, so perhapse you guy's can list the most popular five or so, what features you do or don't use, and what you do or don't like about each.

The SOG Powerlock is the best! The LM Supertool is second. Check the other threads for a few others.

Depends on how big of a tool you want, I guess.

My big tool is the SOG Powerlock. Very strong, but kind of heavy. My small EDC tool is the Gerber Multiplier 400. SOG tools aren't as well finished as the Gerbers and Leathermen I've encountered, but they're pretty well-designed tools meant to be used hard.

I believe the SOG PowerLock is THE best multi-tool. However, if you want something a little smaller and lighter, the SOG Deluxe Pocket PowerPlier is an excellent choice.

My vote goes to Gerber. I've been carrying a 600 series multi lock since they came out. Beat the hell out of it all the time, you wouldn't beleive the abuse they take. Also a very functional design. The slide action pliars open with a flick of the wrist, and are VERY solid. All the tools lock (bolt action lock) resists dirt and grime really well. Easy to clean too, just hose it out with WD40.
Cost isn't bad either.

If size isn't really that much of a concern, and you want the TOUGHEST multitool out there, then my recommendation is the SOG Powerlock with the Titanium Nitride (TiNi) coating.

With the patented SOG Compound Leverage, the Powerlock will easily crush the competition.....literally.

Went to Academy this evening, looked at the Leatherman Supertool and must say that I wasn't very impressed. I also got a look at the Gerber Legend 800 and found it preferable to the Leatherman, but still want to see the SOG Powerlock before I make a decision. Saw a few others like the Schrade and Timberline, but found them as unimpressive as the Leatherman. Thanks for all the imput guys!

I'll take the Swiss Tool over any I've seen. I've never handled a SOG, so I can't comment on them.
