Just got the WE pro 2 and love it but I am a bit confused on mounting the blade. Do I try to mount it so that the center of the blade (length) is in the center of the clamps, then keep the back of the blade parallel to the base or do I run tape from the heel to tip and make that line parallel to the base?

Either will work, you will just want to use a sharpie to tell where you're hitting so your tip angle doesn't get too wide if you care about that 😊

You mainly mount it based on how it sharpens the area from the belly to the tip... Not based on the center of the blade.

Check this page... Finding the Sweet Spot

Edit to add:

p.s. It doesn't really matter if you make the edge parallel to the base, or mount it so the spine rests on the pins.... again the key is the curved portion, so mark it with a Sharpie and note where it's being removed. No need to run tape from heel to tip, and make that parallel (in fact, that will most cases make it wrong). Just document what you do, so that you can easily repeat it.
