Just had a quick question about some ceramic stones...

The 1200/1600 ceramic stones are white and black.
The 1.4/.6 ceramic stones are orange and yellow.

I just got a set that are ceramic but are red and orange... are these an older model? What is the grit or micro on these?

(Sorry if this is the wrong area)

Just a little bit more information... the guy I got it from said back when he got his wicked edge they were a $39 add on.

Hi - it is the color of the hones that is important. the handle colors for each handle type are fairly consistent, but they will change based upon what they have available. Sounds like yours are mounted on the normal colors used for 100/200 grit.

The 1200/1600 hones are generally blue 1200 and white 1600 (there were some productions that weren't) and are on white/grey handles

The micro fines are brownish 1.4 and white 0.6. These are super hard and have more rounded edges. The don't have a set handle for these yet so the colors will vary

At the price he is mentioning he paid, they would have been the 1200/1600 most likely and the MF just came out last year and have been $120

I hope this helps - if not post a pic of what you have and I'll see what I can do...
