This is a shout-out for a really good company. I’ve had the WE-130 system for about a month. My wife told my son I wanted to by a couple more plates so I could get a finer edge so he got me the 800/1000 stones for Christmas. Unfortunately, one of the 800 sides had a hard tiny “pimple” about an inch from one end. The plate hopped over the bump which I thought wouldn’t help the knife edge much. I could still use the plate if I turned it so the little bump was on the bottom and I didn’t notice the little hop at the end of the upward stroke because apparently I wasn’t using the bottom end of the plate.
However, I called WE customer service and explained my issue. Without hesitation they said they would send me two more 800/1000 plates AND a return shipping label by 2-day priority mail. Amazing! I’ve never had a company send me a replacement for anything before I returned the product I had a problem with. This company replaced both of the 800/1000 plates and asked that I send the original two back to them.
I just received the new plates and a 1-day return shipping label. Nice! I know some will say WE should be generously responsive but I was willing to pay the hefty price without knowing they would be so good to deal with. Now I am glad I supported this American company— both for their great sharpening system and the CS.
