Wicked edge lapping film

I have just ordered some blank paddles and some lapping paper that sticks to said paddles in 9 5 3 1 .3 micron and then have also ordered some blank strops and some .250 and .125 diamond spray. Has anyone had any experience with this and does it sound like the way to go?
 
You can also order the lapping film from "best sharpening stones" online. just google that. I've gotten good results by going up to 1000 grit, switching to my two leather strops (3.5/5 micron), and then over to the lapping film. It'll be even better for you as you have the blank mounts! I have had to do it freehand. Best of luck!
