Wicked Edge Pro 2 Price Increase?

so i was ready to pull the trigger on a Wicked Edge Pro Pak 2 today and the price went up $50.

anyone know if this is a straight price increase or did they add features?

Looks to me like a good ol' fashion price hike. I have been on the verge of a purchase of a new system for a while now, I don't think it'll be a WE now. Unless one pops up on the used market fairly priced.

i called WE friday to get the low down.
it's a straight price increase no new features.
they say the increase was effective from the beginning of august.

I just checked Amazon -- you can get the Pro-Pak I plus the upgrade kit together for under $600.

It's not absolutely everything in the full $750 PPII kit but you have everything you need.

I was looking for over a year and finally paid full price a year ago. Not one moment of buyer's remorse.

I've spent a lot more in the vast arsenal of stones I have but I had no idea these were so expensive. To each their own, but you could have some of the very best stones available for the cost of one of these.

Ditto. I would have thought 250.00 would be the price out for a manual sharpening doodad. I'm not sure I could easily spend that much money on a sharpening set-up. I'd have to start researching Japanese naturals, a good set of man-made stones wouldn't come close to that budget.
