Wicked edge question

Thinking about picking one of these up used on the forums. What is the difference between a gen 1 and a gen 2? Is buying the upgraded arms really worth it. Thanks

All depends on what you are wanting... for me it was worth it, and I love the newer arms, but it is not necessary to get a good edge.

I vote 'yes' on the upgraded arms in the PP2. There is a lot of 'slop' with the regular arms.

Mine will mainly be used for sharpening my EDC knives and fixing any chips that might occur while on a camping trip. I also sharpen all my friends knives, although I feel like a suck at putting a good edge on a knife but they definitely work for most people. I think seeing all of the edges by most people on this forum it gave me a complex. hahaha

Does the slop from the factory arms induce an uneven edge? If so, I will be picking some up. I read somewhere there was a recall on the old arms, how would I know if the used unit I bought has them? Thanks again
