I recently picked up a Wicked Edge that was slightly used and should arrive on Wednesday, I got the 100/200, 400/600, 800/1000, 1200/1600 stones and the 3.5/5 and 10/14 micron leather strops with diamond pastes. I also ordered the Pro Pack II upgrade kit and angle cube. Anything else really needed to do EDC edges and nice polished edges every once in a while. Anything else you guys recommend?

You may be able to get mirrored edges if you go from the 1600's to the 14um and down, but I would suggest getting the micro fine ceramics (1.4 and .6um) ceramics as an "in between" the 1k diamonds and the 1200 ceramics as that is what everyone on the Wicked Edge forum is reporting works best, not the other way around as one would believe. Keep us posted!

Might take you up on that granite base, but the wife is redoing the kitchen and I will have to wait to see what colors she picks, then I can order one that will match.

Josh, isn't the Micro finer then the ceramics I have? that seems like going backwards for sure. I have two Striders I need to send you to sharpen. It will be a while till I am confident enough to do those myself. What is your wait time looking like and price? Shoot me a PM when you have a chance and let me know. Thanks

Im sure ill have something that matches.
Their are more on ebay than I have pictured here on the forum.
Im only half way through cataloging them also.

Yeah dude I know it's confusing... i don't own the ceramics myself i just remember a few of the guys on the WE forum saying that. You may want to pop over there and ask the same question. pm sent

In all honesty, for a great EDC edge all that is needed is no more than the 600 grits and maybe one leather strop pack with 5 micron paste if you don't have a hand strop. Finishing with a well broken in 600 grit stone, dropping the angle a degree or two and 3 or 4 light passes with the 5 micron strops will give a fantastic EDC edge.

For mirrors, my progression after the 1000 grit is 1200/1600 ceramics then 5/3.5 on leather, then 1/0.5 cbn spray on kangaroo. Leaves a mighty fine polish for me and for the people I do them for.

Some people grab a section of scrap counter top material to make their base. If you get new counter tops, talk to the contractor about some left over material.
