I purchased a Wicked Edge WE 130 several years ago and love the precision edges it can provide. I also purchased my first Chris Reeve knife less than a year ago and am also attracted to the precise tolerances and beauty of them. So much so I have already found myself with 8 CRKs. Having 4 kids I don’t have much time to devote to sharpening, so I am reaching out to see if anyone would be willing to share their Wicked Edge sharpening settings for any of the following models/blade shapes:

-Small Sebenza 31 Drop Point
-Small Sebenza Insingo
-Large Sebenza 31 Drop Point
-Large Sebenza Insingo
-Large Inkosi Drop Point
-Large Inkosi Insingo
-Umnumzaan Drop Point

Any help would be greatly helpful. If they don’t work perfectly, at least it will get me very close. I’m sure this information will also help other Wicked Edge/CRK users as well. Thanks in advance for any help!

For your large 31, start with the knife in the upper position and tilt it forward until the tip is in the center of C7. This downward orientation is necessary to prevent the tip from widening. I recommend 20 degrees per side as a starting point. I don't like the over-sharpened look of acute bevels, so my sebenzas stay around 20 dps. I've never had the need to make one more obtuse than that, either. As stated above, each knife will have subtle variations, but this should get you close. Good luck!

Thanks Modernflame! That info is helpful. Nice mods on your Wicked Edge!
Thanks! When I first got the WE and the accessories, I was in sticker shock for a couple of years, but now it's my most beloved piece of kit. When I go to my happy place, I play loud music, drink a beer and sharpen knives. Kinda depressing when everything is already sharp. :(

The setting above worked very well. Anyone have settings on a Small and Large Sebenza Tanto they’d be willing to share? I understand they may vary slightly from knife to knife, but they can get someone very close to start with.
