wicked edge stones

Anyone trim the plastic around the wicked edge stones? I am thinking about doing this so I can get to the back of blade without them interfering.

I haven't, (although I've thought about it)... but several users in the WE forum have.

As you're probably aware of though, that trim is designed to help protect your hands.

I ended up going for it, its the only way I could see how to get the whole blade sharpened on my pm2.

I'm curious- how did you cut it? It seems like pretty tough plastic.

Or you could add a sharpening notch to the blade.

I cut about a inch and a half off one side of each of mine for doing spydies.

I'm curious- how did you cut it? It seems like pretty tough plastic.

I clamped the sone in my bench vise and used a grinder to trim the edges then cleaned them up with a knife and file.
