Hey guys if anyone has a Wicked Edge could you please point me in the direction of the best place to buy one. Also, what stones/strops/films do I need to make absolutely killer mirror polished edges. I'm thinking maybe a Pro-pack I and the 3/5micron strop set. Do I need anything between the 1000grit stones in the pro pack and the strops to get high polished edges? Thanks in advance.

The pro pack includes the 5/3micron strops. Also note the ceramic stones are back ordered.

I have kits and most supplies. Wicked Edge does not.

The world is out of 800/1000 stones and the 1200/1600 stones.

To get the best possible mirror edge using the current product line I would suggest a kit/base, 800/1000 stones and then 14/10/5/3/5/1/0.5 micron diamond paste balsa strops

I have all of the above for immediate shipping save the 800/1000 stones not expeted until March. Chinese New Year halts production. You are welcome to checkout my website or ask me questions directly. I am an active member here.

Thank you, I'll check it out. Are the Balsa strops better than leather?

Posted in April of 2011:
I'm heading to Marlboro in two weeks to meet w/ DMT to provide exactly the 1200/8000 grit combo. I've got a set they made up for me and I love them.

I made these in March of 2011:

Just buy a pair of blank handles from Wicked Edge and glue a pair of 1200 and 8000 DMT's to them.
They're the stones that are made for the aligner kit. It's a perfect fit to anyone's WEPS setup.

I'm sure Clay/Wicked Edge is doing there best to keep up with supply and demand but sometimes
you just gotta do things for yourself. ;) :D

you think you should go to a 14/10 micron paste after the 1000 stock diamond stone? well, there must be a discrepancy somewhere... because in the Grand Unified Grit Chart (posted sticky) it says that the 1k stock diamond stone is 7 micron... This information is supposed to have been obtained directly from Clay. If this is true, then it would be a step backward to go to the 14/10 combo and you should go straight to the 5/3.5 micron strops... not sure which is accurate, but I would definitely check on it before I made the purchase.

Bear in mind that grit size is FAR from everything as far as finish goes! The micron sizes of the grit particles are larger, but they are not as rigidly held, and are over a soft backer instead of a steel plate.

You're going to have a less severe scratch pattern when switching from diamonds to paste's and or polishing tapes even if the
grit/micron sizes seem to be a step back. A 3 micron paste is going to leave a more mirror like finish then a 3 micron diamond.
