On either Thursday or Friday I'll be expecting the delivery of my Wicked Edge Pro Pack I. I was wondering if there was anything that I should be aware of or any general tips that you guys have to offer.

Some things I've been told and know:

- Take my time
- Practice on some cheaper knives
- The stones will need to break in
- Until the 100 grit stones are fully broken in, don't apex the edge as the stones will cause micro-chipping of the edge

Thanks!

1. Use an angle cube to be accurate. The angle listed on the WE can be off based on the thickness of the blade for the side of the clamp that moves.

2. Note where you clamp th blade to be able get. The exact same spot next time.

3. Use tape on the blade to avoid scratching the blade in the clamp.

Good luck and enjoy.

Reprofiling goes fastest using up and down strokes. I do this only on 100 grit or coarser. Beyond that, I only take back (from the edge nearest to the pivot) to front strokes for more uniform scratching.
