Wicked Edge VS Razor Sharp edgemaker system (Paper Wheels) which do you think works better?
OK so I admit to being not the Sharpest tool in the Shed ;)
Just set up and used the Razor Sharp system with a variable speed grinder base set @ 2k rpm
So far it does give shaving results if you follow the directions an MOST importantly if you have a very smooth even pass each time on the wheel.
Looking for consistency, speed and scary sharp results every time!!!
Noticed it was more "Operator Error" when the results were not consistent. Due to body movement even with locked in elbows hip swivel!
Please post your opinion and a four digit number the winner gets three Mondo Skull Beads.
Number closest to the last four digits in the AZ Pick lottery on 11/03/2012 wins

I have never used a Wicked edge, but I have used the razor sharp system and I really like it. I can do big blades, little blades, and everything in-between. The slotted wheel is great for touch-up as well. 2734

I've never used either of those systems, but I would go for the wicked edge as it most resembles what I use now (Lansky) and I've got scary sharp results from that for many years.

On a side note, after milling around the forum for the past month or so I'm thinking about migrating to another system, either the Wicked Edge or the WorkSharp...

I use the Wicked Edge when I want to sit in front of the TV and sharpen my knives. It also makes re-profiling easier and more accurate.

The paper wheels are much faster for sharpening knives, but you really have to pay attention and be conscious of your movements and technique. After the WE, the paper wheels usually finish up if I want a mirrored edge. Also, my bench grinders are in the garage, and there's no TV there.

I use both and like gooeytek said if I want to do a quick touch up tie paper wheel is fast but does need full attention the Wicked Edge does a great job if you want to have full control and a great finish. 4862

I use my lansky to get it most of the way there, then I use paper wheels to get my blades razor sharp. I like to have a mirror polished edge, and I cant do that on the lansky... but you can on a wicked edge.

I have paper wheels and an Edge Pro, and I prefer the Wheels for speed. I can get the same edge with the wheels that I can with the EP. I never tried a Wicked Edge. 0516

I like my wicked edge but it is not as fast as the videos claim. It still takes about 2 hours to get a knife reprofiled. 5762
