I have an old school Field and Sport Wicked Edge. It does a good job.

Recently I said what the heck and ordered the 2017 Gen 3 vise upgrade.

I can't put in to words how much better this new vise is. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny.

With the old blue vise, you had to use double sided tape to sharpen most Spydercos. And even then it was kinda sketchy. It was a pain to loosen the screw to adjust the knife.

With the new vise - all those problems are gone. It's so easy to use.

Normally I would only sharpen one knife in a day because it took so long I just didn't feel like doing another one.

Today I did two and I could really do another one no problem.

I'd like to thank Wicked Edge customer service. They are the best. Especially Kyle. He helped me and answered all my weird questions.

If you have an older Wicked Edge and you're even thinking about upgrading the vise - do it. It's a 100% improvement.

I never had one of the older vise's my first one was the gen III and couldn't agree more with aquaman. I can clamp any blade perfectly the first time only adjustment is to dial in the angles which is super easy with the angle cube.

I have limited experience with Wicked Edge but had a GO model for a brief period with the standard style vise. I recently bought a WE 130 with the new cam action vise and I agree, it's miles ahead of the older vise. Full flat grind blades set up in seconds.

When I purchased my WE120 a year ago they are developing the new jaw clamp / cam. I agree that their traditional clamps do take time to setup for each knife. However, the shortcomings of their first generation cam lock was lacking. I'm pleased to see the new generation that is so accommodating to different blades. Enjoy our new sharpeners guys!
