Wide range of pricing on same model knives?

I have decided that I am going to pick up 2 Emerson knives very shortly. I have narrowed my selection down to a CQC13 plain edge and a CQC7 Karambit with a tanto blade.
I found a couple of sites on the Internet where these are priced in the 140's. Would these be factory seconds or legitimate knives? The price range is so wide on these knives over the net, that it makes it pretty confusing on knowing if this is a great deal or rip off.

That was supposed to be the CQC13 Bowie, my other choice if I decide to go with just one knife would be the CQC12 plain with titanium handles on both sides. That one looks like a really nice knife about $325.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike---shop around, big time! I paid way too much for my HD-7. No regrets.

The $140 range is very common from what I have seen, so those should be legit. Good job on saving up for the two emersons . I still just have my one and only commander.

Ebay has a lot of Emersons for around $145. They had some cqc-7's for 100, which is a great deal. I just got my cqc-7 and I am amazed at the quality. Can't wait to get a few more Emersons.

Cole.---What do you think of the HD? Did you ever see an Emerson with a Krein grind? SHARP.

if your seeing 12s for $140 id buy as many as you can, get me a few while you there as well ;) !!! i payed $240 for my last one. $140 for a new kerambit is about right id say although you may well find it for less.
Id also advise having a look at the HD-7 over the liner lock 7

That is a little on the high side for the Karambit.

As far as the CQC-12, they run in the low 200's. If you are finding one for $140...got to wonder is there isn't a mistake somewhere....

i doubt ya can find a ti/ti '12 for $325, EKI doesnt have any if they are whom ya are speaking of, most i have seen were ~$400 and up IIRC.

FWIW imho the '12 (ti/ti or ti/G10) is the very best production EKI around, bar none.

I agree. I paid close to 300 with shipping, tax etc for my ti/g10. It was worth every penny. It's my all time favorite. Any suggestions on a better folder that is nonwaved? I am always looking to expand my relatively small collection.

I think that I am going to just do the 1 knife route and go with the 12.

This is the write up on the 12 that I found, am I possibly reading the description wrong? The other 12 combo is like 283.

that would be a deal if they do actually have one, when i was looking several sights advertised them but didnt have them, like i said EKI certainly doesnt have them.

I contacted the site where I found the CQC12 titanium for $323.00
They do not show it out of stock so I contacted them and they told me that they have been waiting for the knives to come in "for the last 2 years"
I guess that explains the great price, just really glad that I contacted them before placing the on-line order:eek:

Back to the websites to start searching again, this time I will contact the shops before ordering the knife. Also this time going with the combo 12!

imho the ti/G10 is just as good, would prefer the ti/ti but i wouldnt pay a big premium for it, not for a user anyway, if i was a collector and just had to have it to complete my collection, different story i suppose.

Just be aware that Ebay has a few sellers selling fake Emersons. There are some coming out of China that have the knife VERY close and have the box down pretty much to a T.

The prices depend on the model. Yoiu can find 7's for a little over 100 but some of the larger models like the 8 will be in hte high 100s with the HD framelock knives even higher.
