Wider Bugout Axis Bar?

Hi All,

I recently upgraded my Bugout 535 with Aimfront aluminum scales. The knife feels awesome in hand now, but there's one detail that keeps bugging me. The axis bar on this thing is so flush with the scales (in both stock and new ones) that operating it becomes somewhat clumsy. Compare this to my beloved 940, the axis bar on that sticks out proudly, and is a tactile joy to operate.

After shopping around the internet, I've yet to find any replacement bar that's wider than the stock bar. Does anybody know of a wider axis bar replacement that I can order, or would a 940 axis bar be compatible with the bugout? The new scales make it the same width as the 940, so that's another idea I have in mind.

Thanks very much,

Ang

Hi Ang,
Did you every figure anything out on this? I've built a bugoit with AWT scales and a regrind.. I bought liners and black steel hardware from Pacificsons on Etsy but between the stop pin, axis bar and the blade ramp I've still got a slight amount of vertical blade play. Between the stop pin and the axis bar I have noticed size differences that helped so I'd like to see who else I can get parts from.
